A short post …. today was a real day of highs and lows (well only 1 of each really).
High: Hockenheim … seeing the F1 cars mainly (other stuff on track was also cool), was a bit late getting there for FP1 but saw all of FP2, really pleased with my seats, did loads of other stuff too. I’ll leave anything more about that for the F1GP/Hockenheim dedicated post after the weekend’s action.
Low: My iPhone has packed up, it won’t even power on, it was working one minute while I was wandering to the station then the next time wanted to do something on it, was no life. THAT REALLY SUCKS BIG TIME !!!! I was expecting something to f-out in my holiday (more like logistics) but didn’t think it would be that. I looked to see where is the closest Apple Store, nothing here, there is one in Sindelfingen where I will be for the Mercedes Factory Tour (is about 3km away from the factory), so I will go in there and see if they can do anything. I dunno if I will get any joy, but is worth a shot. I have a backup as at this morning so won’t have lost anything data wise.
So for now ... I’m offline during the day, no WhatsApp, no email, no CityMaps2Go Pro (I was using that a LOT as well to help me with my unknown cities), no nothing !! SULK !!!! And all that after buying a local Telekom SIM in Frankfurt yesterday so I could send stuff from the F1GP, that could have been a waste of money now.
Update: Had the night to sleep over it …. just looked online and looks like there is only a 1yr hardware warranty so I think I will be SOL and may have to take it to say iFix or similar when I’m back home. I am super down about the whole thing, but won’t let it ruin my holiday, nut in a small way it kinda has in certain respect – I know it is only a material item but still.
Going to have to make a plan on Monday mainly for an alarm as need to be at station at specific time for my train to Stuttgart. I’ve seen an alarm clock in my room and sure I can ask if I can set it and use it.
