Big Ben
I spent a few days in London on my travels, the main part was to watch the Tour de France (see previous post). I tried to get in a little bit of sightseeing while I was there and managed to see most of the things I’d wanted to. I know a few things that I missed seeing but not too serious. It was really kind of Kate & Andrew (and Alexandra) to put me up for the time while and their hospitality was fantastic and much appreciated. I stayed with them out in Teddington and traveled in and out of Waterloo each day which was a dead easy commute. I had borrowed a Visitor Oyster Card from Ian at work which I loaded money onto so made travelling around a lot easier and cheaper than with single tickets/cash. I walked most of the time I was in central London vs taking the tube so I could see see more. I met up with Mario at the Teddington Arms one evening which was really good to catch up, we worked in UK together in 2000 and met up in 2007 when I was over. I had planned to try and meet up with a few other mates but time just didn’t allow for it all to to be fitted in, sorry guys.
