After my F1GP weekend I headed from Mannheim down to Stuttgart, where I carry on with the car focus for this part of the trip. Monday I had a 2pm Factory Tour booked (which was free nogal). I headed out to Böblingen on the SBahn and then on the shuttle bus to the Customer Center. I made sure I was there way in advance, in the end I was there about an hour early, as I really didn’t want to miss the tour having booked that even before I actually booked my flights overseas.
While I was waiting for the tour I looked around the Customer Center which was cool to see. They had a number of cars and info on their production process. They have a delivery area as well where customers can pick up their cars and 220 people do that daily. They had a big shop as well where you could buy anything Mercedes related from clothing to toys to new badges for your car, you name it – you could get it there.
We were not allowed to take any photos/videos on the factory tour at all so this video (which they gave me on a flash drive – with a cool Mercedes Car shape) will have to suffice (assume it isn’t super secret as they gave to a few people). We saw most of what is in the video (factory stuff) except the paint shop.
